Amazon Smile scheme launches

You can now raise money for the hospital charity through your Amazon purchases! The online store has launched a new scheme called Amazon Smile which donates 0.5% of the net purchase price of eligible items to charity at no cost to the customer.

The hospital charity is a registered charity with Amazon Smile, and you can help the Charity to support patients across the West Midlands by going to smile.amazon.co.uk and selecting University Hospitals Birmingham Charity as your charity.

From now on, 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT and shipping) of eligible items that you purchase will be donated to the Charity at no cost to yourself. However, you must access Amazon via smile.amazon.co.uk, and not their main address, when making purchases.

Senior Fundraiser Rachel Learmonth said: "This is a fantastic scheme that Amazon has launched, it is a service that a lot of people use frequently so it has great potential to raise money to support patients across Birmingham."

If you would like more information about this scheme, head to smile.amazon.co.uk or call 0121 371 4852 for help in setting up Amazon Smile.
