Black Country Comrades walk together with veterans

Fisher House UK Steve Biundo, from Black Country Comrades, organised a sponsored walk in aid of Fisher House. In 2014, the 49-year-old from Rowley Regis held a sponsored walk for both the British Legion and Fisher House; however, due to the success of this walk, he decided from then onwards to hold separate events for the charities. In order that injured and disabled veterans could take part in the 2015 walk for Fisher House, Steve and his colleagues have held the sponsored walks along the canal, as it is a flat surface to traverse. The walk has now been nicknamed the ‘comrades’ canal pass’. The walk raised a fantastic £602 for Fisher House. As it costs £25 for one family to stay at Fisher House for one night, this donation will make a huge difference. Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising at QEHB Charity, said: “We are very grateful to Black Country Comrades for all of their fundraising.” To find out more about Fisher House click here, or to donate click here.
