Carpenter Surveyors makes donation to cancer patients at QEHB
Carpenter Surveyors has made a generous donation of £1,500 to support cancer patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The company is based in the Midlands and Managing Director, Ian Bullock, wanted to do something to raise funds for an important cause.
Ian decided to donate a percentage of all fees charged by the surveyor to support cancer research at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, following the treatment that his mother received there. He said: “My mum received fantastic treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital before she passed away, I wanted to do something to support the world-leading research that is taking place at the hospital and was delighted to have the support of all of our Surveyors and customers.”
The money that Carpenter Surveyors has donated will help QEHB Charity to continue to support the cutting-edge research that takes place at the hospital. Over the years, thanks to the generous support of organisations such as Carpenter Surveyors, the hospital charity has funded a range of research projects that have helped in the fight against cancer.
The Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Centre (known as CIIC) is funded by QEHB Charity and brings together a team of scientists from the University of Birmingham and cancer doctors from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, as they join forces to harness the power of the immune system in fighting cancer.
The team are focused on developing tumour immunology research which is then translated into practical improvements in cancer treatment, bringing brand new, innovative, treatments to patients right here in Birmingham.
Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager at QEHB Charity, said: “We are so grateful for the kind support of Carpenter Surveyors, the money that they have donated will help us to continue to support the incredible work that is undertaken here at QEHB into immunotherapy. There is a wide range of exciting research projects taking place here in Birmingham that have the power to change the way that we treat cancer, none of which would be possible without our generous supporters.”
