CDU nurses fight their way to fundraising glory

You may remember the story of Cait Nee and Lisa Mallen, nurses at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, who decided to do an eight week-long course at ‘Pink Collar Boxing’, in order to raise £250 for the Clinical Decision (CDU) Fund at QEHB Charity. To read the original article, click here.

On Saturday 14th November, the pair entered the ring to face their opponents at an event held in Villa Park, having only had the eight weeks of training.

The pair worked incredibly hard at the event, which was enjoyed by both themselves and spectators.

Through taking part in such an event, the pair smashed through their target of £250, to raise an incredible £680 on their JustGiving page.

Sian Averill, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “What an ingenious way to fundraise! Cait and Lisa have done amazingly well, and the money raised will make a huge difference to patients on CDU. On behalf of QEHB Charity, I want to thank both Cait and Lisa for their hard work and determination.”
