Clarissa donates Easter treats for staff!
Six-year-old Clarissa Greenfield is one of our youngest fundraisers who has been donating to the hospital charity for almost two years, and now she has donated some sweet treats for staff at the hospital!
Clarissa first starting fundraising in 2018 when she was just four years old. Her Granny, Denise, was admitted to QEHB to be treated for two brain aneurysms. Clarissa noticed her mood lowered and asked her school to write letters to make her feel better for her birthday.
Her mum, Felicity, shared the idea on Facebook which attracted hundreds of letters from all over the world, coming from as far as Australia!
Ever since, Clarissa has been fundraising for the Charity, she has created her very own merchandise, held craft stalls and has now donated 157 Easter eggs to staff who are working extremely hard during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leicester, Clarissa said: “The reason why I have collected 157 Easter eggs is because I think the doctors and nurses that are risking their lives to save others I feel like they need a special treat. Thank you so much to the people who donated them. Love Clarissa.”
Mike Hammond, Charity Chief Executive, went to collect the Easter eggs from Clarissa and said: “Clarissa is an amazing fundraiser and thinks of everyone when she is fundraising. We are extremely grateful to have her on board and I am sure that the staff will love their sweet treat whilst they are working so hard.
“Thank you Clarissa for all of your incredible hard work.”
