Emily to hold pink-inspired bake stall for breast cancer

Emily Bielby is a Medical Secretary at Heartlands Hospital and to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month this October she has set up her own fundraising event on Tuesday 15 October called Think Pink. Eat Pink to help raise money to fight breast cancer.

Emily lost her mum to breast cancer when she was just four years old, and has been a devoted supporter of charities fighting breast cancer for many years, including taking on a Pink Ribbon Walk in 2010, and taking part in Wear it Pink events.

Emily's bake sale is raising funds for the Cancer appeal at Heartlands Hospital Charity and will be held at Heartlands Hospital, by the 'Dolphins' and is open to all staff, patients and visitors, with a selection of pink goodies for sale.

Emily said: "I'm really looking forward to the event, I've had lots of help from my amazing colleagues in the Respiratory Physiology Department. The pink will be flowing and all of the cakes, doughnuts and macaroons will all look amazing!"

Emily's fundraising plans do not stop here, as she plans to take part in another Pink Ribbon Walk next year and is also considering a skydive challenge to support Heartlands Hospital Charity.

If you're going to be at Heartlands Hospital on Tuesday 15 October then be sure to come along to Emily's Think Pink. Eat Pink cake sale on the main hospital corridor, by the 'Dolphins' near Ward 19.
