First cancer nursing conference is great success

A conference made up of cancer nursing staff from across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital recently took place, with inspiring and informative speakers taking to the conference floor.

The Joint Cancer Nursing Conference was the first one of its type, bringing together staff from across the Trust. The conference was supported by the hospital charity, and saw a range of speakers coming to the fantastic venue at Birmingham City Football Club to talk to the nurses about a range of topics relating to cancer treatment across the Trust.

Lynn Reaper, Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse at Solihull Hospital, said: "It was a fantastic conference, with lots of eminent speakers who led interesting sessions on a range of topics including cancer recovery, the future of cancer nursing and the fascinating work being done with the 100,000 Genomes project.

"I would like to thank the Charity for kindly supporting this conference, allowing us to come together and share ideas that will help to improve the quality of cancer care across the Trust."
