Friends of Good Hope Hospital makes generous donation to children’s appeal

Good Hope Hospital Charity is raising £300,000 to renovate the children’s areas at the hospital, making them more bright and child-friendly for the 30,000 children who are treated there each year.

Earlier this week, the Charity brought you the news that the appeal had received a boost thanks to a donation of £10,000 from The Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council.

The Friends of Good Hope Hospital has matched this donation, with a further donation of £10,000.

Tony Cannon, Chair of the Friends of Good Hope Hospital, said: “The Friends are pleased to match the generous donation of the Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council with a further £10,000.

“The children’s facilities at the hospital are in need of updating and this appeal with provide the extras that exceed the basic NHS provision and provide a much better patient experience for the children and their parents.”

Laura Power, Fundraising Manager at Good Hope Hospital Charity, said: “The Charity’s thanks go to the Friends of Good Hope Hospital for their incredibly generous donation.

“Without such donations, it would not be possible for the Charity to renovate the children’s department at the hospital. The donations will help the Charity to provide a beautiful space that will help children relax before their appointment, keeping them calm and putting their parents at ease.”
