Fundraising dinner with MasterChef winner announced

Last year Matt Davies held a fundraising dinner in Birmingham which raised an incredible £8,000 for charity, of which £4,000 was donated to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity.

Matt was inspired by the treatment that he received at the hospital following a severe electric shock that left him fighting for his life and lost the use of his left arm. Before the accident Matt had been working as a chef and was responsible for six Michelin Listed and Multi AA Rosette fine dining restaurants in Staffordshire.

Now, Matt is busy preparing for his next fundraising dinner, and has enlisted the help of none other than Stu Deeley, winner of MasterChef: The Professionals in 2019, who is one of the biggest names on the Birmingham food scene.

The event is taking place on Tuesday 24 March at the Boat Inn, Lichfield, which was recently named in the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK.

Matt said: “I’m delighted to be hosting another fundraising dinner to raise money for a cause that is so close to my heart. It was a pleasure to raise money to support the work of QEHB Charity and I’m really looking forward to our event in March. It promises to be a stunning evening of food and I’m incredibly grateful to Stu and to Liam Dillon from the Boat Inn for making this possible.”

The MasterChef champion will be dazzling the diners with his food, and speaking of the event he said: “When hearing that just playing a small part in helping to raise money for such a great cause I couldn’t help but get involved. Thank you to Matt for inviting me to cook; I’m honoured!”

There are 65 tickets available for this event, at the price of just £45 per head. If you would like to attend then please call the Boat Inn on 01543 361 692 to book your tickets.
