Half Marathon: Congratulations!

(Pictured: Umar Hussain as Mr Bear!)

The Morrisons Great Birmingham Run 2015 took place yesterday, Sunday 18th October. The team at QEHB Charity dotted themselves along the route- Mike Hammond, Chief Executive of the charity, could be spotted at Five Way’s Island as our very own Mr Bear!

The atmosphere at the finish line, where the communications team positioned themselves to cheer on and congratulate the runners, was electric. It was a joy to see so many people in QEHB Charity shirts as they ran the 13.1 miles. From members of the QE staff in scrubs to Umar Hussain, who ran the final mile of the race in Mr Bear, the lengths that our runners went to in order to raise awareness for QEHB Charity was awe-inspiring. To each and every one of you who ran for QEHB Charity, or supported those who were running, thank you.

Our runners ran for a plethora of causes we support, from the Young Person’s Unit through to the Liver Foundation UK. To find out more about the many causes QEHB Charity supports, click here.

Laura Power, Senior Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “The Birmingham Half Marathon was, as usual, an amazing event. Everyone is buzzing, and there is a real sense of community. On behalf of QEHB Charity, I want to thank all those who ran for and supported us.”

Plans are now well underway for the Morrisons Great Birmingham 10k run on Sunday 1st May 2016! To find out more click here.
