QEHB Charity is of the strong belief that diet is of paramount importance in day-to-day health. One of the multitude of funds at the charity is the Health & Wellbeing fund. This focuses upon not only patients but staff, as healthy eating is a universal issue. As a charity, we help to promote healthy eating across the hospital site. We are therefore delighted to have teamed up with the Birmingham Mail for their healthy-eating recipe book project, culminating in the Healthy Homemade Meals Recipe Book, now available to purchase from the QEHB Charity shop for £5.

Diet is a perennial focal point on every single ward of the hospital, and therefore this book, crammed full of healthy recipes that the entire family will enjoy, is incredibly useful for all. From dieticians advising patients with diabetes to try and regulate their condition via healthy eating, through to a book of recipes helping hospital staff and families to create good, wholesome meals for the elderly, this book and the motivations behind it are helping to bring about tangibly positive changes to the way people eat. A good diet will help bring about a long and healthy life.

From all of us here at QEHB Charity, we want to pass on our gratitude to Birmingham Mail for choosing us as their supported charity in this endeavour to encourage healthy eating. As a charity overseeing a hospital that sees three million people pass through its door each year, support from a plethora of sources is warmly welcomed.
