QEHB Charity needs YOU this Christmas

Laura Beacham, Teenage and Young Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist and YPU patient Kind-hearted Nurse, Amy Rogers, always wants to go the extra mile for patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Back in April of 2015, the Assistant Nurse Practitioner organised a party with several colleagues, which was funded by QEHB Charity, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day. Now the hard-working Nurse is backing the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) Charity’s Christmas Campaign whole-heartedly. She said: “At Christmas it is especially important to make an extra effort, to ensure it is as special as possible for our patients. I’m delighted QEHB Charity has launched a Christmas Campaign to help make the festive period as special as it can be for all those who will, for whatever reason, spend Christmas at hospital this year.”amy QEHB Charity wants to raise £12,000 to bring Christmas to the estimated one million patients who will be spending the festive period at the hospital this year. From giving presents to young patients with cancer, to providing TV access and hampers for patients at the hospital on Christmas Day and decorating the hospital with festive trees, the elves at QEHB Charity will be very busy in their plans to bring a little bit of magic to the people at the QE this festive season. With QEHB Charity’s help, Amy is going to bring Christmas to patients on her ward this year. She said: “This year we are planning a special party for our staff, patients and visitors. A local choir and organist will be coming to sing some Christmas carols and we're going to serve Christmas food, hot chocolate and (non-alcoholic!) mulled wine. “QEHB Charity is kindly funding the food for this event, and the organist will be none other than QEHB Charity’s Fundraising Officer, Michael Tivey!” To donate to QEHB Charity’s Christmas Campaign and help bring Christmas to patients, families and staff at the QE, please go online to www.qechristmas.org or call 0121 371 4852.
