Special ride to hospital for Friends fan Jess

Jess Pardo Alvarez had a special ride to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham this week, travelling from her home in Warwick to the hospital in a New York City-style yellow cab!

Jess is a huge fan of the TV series Friends, and has always dreamed of riding in a New York taxi. Jess is currently receiving radiotherapy treatment at the hospital and Liam Herbert, Specialist Paediatric Therapy Radiographer wanted to make her dream come true.

UHB Charity helped to put Liam in contact with Richard Plant, a member of Coleshill Auto Breakfast Meet ( CABM) and the American Auto Club UK and the proud owner of a 1980 Chequer Marathon. The beautiful car has been dressed up to resemble a New York taxi and Richard was delighted to help Jess’ dream come true.

Liam said: “We are so pleased to have been able to give Jess this amazing experience, thank you so much to Richard for his generosity in offering Jess a ride in his cab!”

UHB Charity is proud to support the incredible work of the radiographers who treat young patients at the hospital.
