Specsavers raise a ‘spec’tacular donation

A huge thank you to the Chelmsley Wood Specsavers team who have recently raised an amazing £300 for Heartlands Hospital Charity.

Team member, Aimee Denison (far right) got in touch with the Heartlands Hospital Charity team after she had held a Halloween fund day to raise money for the Eden Suite at Heartlands Hospital. The Eden Bereavement Suite cares for those families who sadly lose their baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. The Unit provides a peaceful and private environment for parents in their time of need.

Aimee said: “We chose to support the Eden Suite because unfortunately, some friends of mine have been looked after on the Unit, but they have all said how staff made such a dreadful experience that tiny bit more manageable. The staff on the Unit are truly amazing.”

The team raised the money by holding an in-store raffle and also sold cakes and sweets and even got Woody from Toy Story to make a guest appearance which all the children thoroughly enjoyed.
Sabrina Hussaine, Fundraising Officer for Heartlands Hospital Charity said: “Thank you so much to the team at Specsavers in Chelmsley Wood for raising such an amazing amount of money for the hospital charity. The money raised will be able to make a significant impact on families who sadly use this facility.”
