Stock Exchange has a ball raising money!

The Birmingham Stock Exchange Association host an annual charity dinner to help raise money for a charity of their choice. This year the team at the Stock Exchange chose to support Good Hope Hospital Charity!

To raise the money, all of the guests take part in a huge game of ‘heads and tails’ until there is only one left standing who wins a prize!

Linsey Ruddell was the first female chairperson of the Birmingham Stock Exchange Association and after hearing about the work that the breast team do at Good Hope Hospital, she wanted to support the team. The money raised will help the hospital charity fund more added extras for patients, their families and staff who are seen by the breast services team every day.

The dinner, which took place in November at The Council House in Birmingham, raised an incredible £2,000 for the breast care services here at the hospital.

Linsey Ruddell said: “It was such a lovely evening despite the weather and we raised an amazing amount of money playing heads and tails. A few of our colleagues and their partners have been treated at the hospital under the breast team so we felt it was a good cause to support.”

The annual dinner celebrates the Association’s charitable achievements throughout the year with their current and former stakeholders, including the money they raise at the dinner for their chosen charity.

Laura Power, Fundraising Manager at Good Hope Hospital Charity, said: “A huge thank you goes to Linsey and everyone at the Birmingham Stock Exchange Association that took part in raising some money!

“The breast care services are incredibly grateful for the donation and it will mean that they can go on more courses to learn even more about breast care and even buy added extras that will benefit patients.”
