Tesco Quinton supports carol concert

Tesco’s Quinton branch ensured yesterday evening’s Christmas carolsingers didn’t go hungry or thirsty.

The supermarket giant kindly donated mince pies and soft drinks to QEHB Charity for members of the choirs from St Peter’s Church of England School and St Edward’s Catholic Primary School, who performed at the event. The store also managed to raise an impressive £300 through customer donations. The festive sing-a-long, which was sponsored this year by Lookers Vauxhall, took place at St Philip’s Cathedral in Birmingham City Centre and the Band of the West Midlands Fire Service also performed.

Sandra Herbert, Community Champion at Tesco Quinton, said: “We are proud to support the QEHB Charity’s fantastic Christmas carol concert in this way, a lovely festive event in aid of raising money for a number of great causes at the hospital.”

This year, the Christmas Carol Concert raised funds in support of three worthy hospital causes: the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Faith Centre; the Dignity in Care Fund, which supports elderly patients; and Fisher House, QEHB Charity’s ‘home away from home’ for military patients and their families.
