Staff at the Sheldon branch of the bank TSB have been eagerly supporting QEHB Charity since July of this year.
The branch decided to specifically support QEHB Charity’s Dignity in Care fund, with the intention of raising enough money to purchase two ‘My Life’ units. These units help to start conversations between dementia patients and their carers by displaying memories of the patient’s life, whether this is through personal photos or visuals of major historical events.
The team at the Sheldon branch of TSB have certainly put the ‘fun’ in fundraising, by either taking part in or organising varied and exciting events!
TSB Sheldon employee, Malcolm Gilbert, took part in QEHB Charity’s abseil on September 6th and raised over £500.
In October, TSB Sheldon held a Charity Partnership Day, which included great competitions such as ‘The Great Sheldon Bake Off’. Staff members presented their cheque for an amazing £3,000 to QEHB Charity on this day.
Sian Averill, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “It is always brilliant to have local businesses, whether individual or part of a chain, supporting the charity. The ‘My Life’ units are an incredible piece of technology to help dementia patients remember key memories of their lives, so on behalf of QEHB Charity I want to thank TSB Sheldon for their ongoing support of the charity.”
