Velo Birmingham & Midlands 2019

Yesterday, 17,000 riders took to the roads for Velo Birmingham & Midlands 2019. This epic cycling event took the riders from Birmingham, to Solihull, Warwickshire, Coventry, Dudley and Sandwell before finishing back in Birmingham city centre.

Over 1,000 riders took part to raise money for the hospital charity in this closed road event, and the route was lined with hundreds of supporters in hospital charity t-shirts to cheer on their loved ones as they made their way around. Huge congratulations go to all of the incredible hospital charity riders who took on the challenge, and thanks go to all of the supporters who helped to make the event so special.

Sadly, one of the 17,000 riders passed away after being airlifted to hospital. The thoughts of everyone at the hospital charity are with the rider’s family and friends at this sad time.
