Senior Trainees (ST5-8, or equivalent non-training grades)
Course outline:
This is an exciting course offering trainees of any training grade and equivalent non-training grades the option of supplementing their operative training in Rhinology using the Phacon.
Course content:
Candidates will spend 3-hours learning techniques involved in:
• Middle Meatal Antrostomy
• Anterior and Posterior Ethmoidectomy
• Sphenoid exploration
• Frontal Sinus surgery
• SPA ligation
• DCR
Additionally, approaches to other endoscopic sinus, skull base and combined surgery procedures.
The real strength of this course is that it enables trainees of all training stages to refine their FESS surgery skills whilst revising/learning sinus anatomy.
Faculty:
All courses are run by expert Consultant Rhinologists (Course organiser +/- visiting faculty), to enable ongoing individually tailored training and feedback throughout the courses.
Phacon Model:
Please note, to attend this course, you will also need to purchase the related Phacon model casette, which will be provided on the day you attend, and then belong to you. For trainees who have already purchased a cassette, but not exhausted the use thereof, the cassettes can continue to be used at subsequent courses without further purchase of cassettes. Once a cassette has been ‘used up’, a new cassette will need to be purchased. Please see the related purchasing option on the Charities Shop website.

This course should be the first stop for all trainees wanting to expand their repertoire in Endoscopic Sinus surgery.
