Since the outbreak of COVID-19 University Hospitals Birmingham Charity has launched an ambitious £1 million appeal to support staff and patients throughout the crisis, providing our NHS Superheroes and the patients that they treat with everything that they need.
Thanks to your donations we have been able to provide our hard working staff with the support that they have needed. From funding food and drink supplies to keep them going during gruelling shifts on the frontline to funding mindfulness sessions to help them to cope with the mental burden of their work, your donations have made a huge difference.
As part of the £1 million appeal, we are raising funds to renovate all of the staff rooms across University Hospitals Birmingham, turning old and tired, clinical rooms into restful and relaxing spaces for our staff to spend time.
Across the Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals your support will help us to give staff a proper space to relax in, easing the physical and mental burden that their jobs place on them.
We will transform the existing staff rooms to create spaces that feel homely, not clinical, in doing so creating a space for staff to spend time together and socialise before and after their shifts, and during their breaks.
Having a space to socialise in will help staff with their personal health and wellbeing, but will also help to build better relationships between teams on the wards.
The past few months have shown just how valued our NHS Superheroes are. We want to say thank you in the best way that we can. Your support will be critical in helping us to realise this ambition. You can make a donation by clicking here.
