Transplant Sport Football Tournament 2019 is great success

The Transplant Sport Football Tournament took place recently in Bicester, with transplant recipients from across the country taking part in the tournament.

Martin Searle, Team Manager of the Birmingham Adult Transplant Sports Team, was there on the day and said: "It was great to be there, not only to see the footballing skills on the pitch by transplant recipients of all ages, but to see one of our Team Members, Mark Greenfield, be on the winning side."

Mark, who teamed up with a group of players from Nottingham, had a liver transplant at QEHB 21 years ago and has expressed his thankfulness to his donor for giving him the gift of being able to play his favorite sport. Mark has spoken of receiving the 'gift of life' thanks to the decision made by his donor's family and spoke of how he wishes to make the most of this gift.
