The Win Sabapathy Foundation for Kidney Research funds projects in four main areas:
1. Funding cutting edge medical equipment not normally available to the NHS
2. Providing educational material, particularly for Asian and Afro-Carribean communities, where the incidence of kidney disease is higher
3. Funding extra facilities for kidney patients whilst they are in hospital
4. Supporting research into kidney disease, again with a focus on Asian and Afro-Carribean communities.
The Win Sabapathy Foundation for Kidney Research is currently working with hospital consultants at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and researchers at the University of Birmingham to develop a new kidney transplant information video in multiple languages that will be shown in hospitals and GP surgeries across the Midlands.
