Christmas at the hospitals
With the nights drawing in and the weather turning colder, we know that Christmas will soon be upon us. For many people, Christmas is a time of relaxation and enjoyment, a time to spend with loved ones at home and taking a well-deserved break.
However, for some, Christmas this year will be spent in hospital as they are not well enough to go home. From elderly care and dementia patients with few or no family members, to children receiving gruelling radiotherapy treatment almost every day of the week, the hospital will be as busy as ever at this time of year.
By fundraising for another year, the Charity will be able to buy hampers for patients and staff to share, gifts for children and young people with cancer, and free TV and parking on Christmas Day. We want to go 'over and above' for patients across QEHB, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital this Christmas.
There are lots of ways that you can get involved this year, from taking part in Festive Jumper Day, to coming to our annual Christmas Carol Service in the beautiful St Philip's Cathedral in Birmingham, there are lots of ways that you can help patients whilst having some festive fun!
Throughout December, there wil be choirs coming to the hospitals to spread some Christmas joy through the power of singing. You can see a full list of the choirs who are visiting here.
The Charity is also selling plenty of exciting festive goodies, you can buy our Christmas cards, or come along to the Fundraising Hub in the atrium at QEHB for a selection of decorations to brighten up your home or office!
None of this would be possible without your help and support, you can help to bring Christmas to the hospitals by donating here.
The Charity is incredibly grateful for the support it receives from corporate sponsors, if you would like to sponsor a floor or a ward this Christmas at any of the hospitals, then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
