Sunrise Snowdon Challenge

Join us for on of our Sunrise Snowdon Challenges in 2024!

Join University Hospitals Birmingham Charity for one of our Sunrise Snowdon walks in 2024!

This amazing event gives you the chance to climb the highest mountain in England & Wales - Mount Snowdon - overnight, to raise money for a ward or department of your choice at your local hospital. 

We will be setting off from Birmingham and travelling to Mount Snowdon via coach, arriving at the mountain shortly after midnight. We will then meet up with the professional guides who will accompany us every step of the way as we make our way up Mount Snowdon!

We will reach the summit in time for the sunrise, before returning back down the mountain and taking the coach back to Birmingham.

Places for these challenges cost £50 and there is a minimum sponsorship requirement of £200.

Kit
Please ensure you have appropriate footwear and walking kit for the event, details can be found here.

A head torch is essential for this trip. Anyone without a head torch will not be allowed to join the walk. You must also bring replacement batteries.

Route: Llanberis Path - approx. 9 miles (14.5km) there and back, 975m (3,199ft) ascent.

Itinerary

Saturday night

9:00pm - leave central Birmingham on coach

Sunday

12:00am - arrive at Mount Snowdon

12:30am - begin walk

4:30am - arrive at summit of Snowdon

8:30am - arrive back at coach and set off for Birmingham

Please note that all times are approximate and subject to change depending on the time of year (on the august date these timings will be slightly later).

This event is open to people aged 18 and over. You do not need to be a member of UHB Charity to take part in this event, it is open to everyone over 18! 

Please note that fundraisers must use the coach transport included in their ticket, fundraisers cannot meet us at Snowdon for the challenge. 

Deposits are non-refundable.
