Networking group, BNI Apollo, take on Challenge34 for University Hospitals Birmingham Charity to help raise money for our incredible NHS frontline workers.

BNI is the world’s leading business referral organisation with chapters all over the world who meet weekly to network and pass business referrals. BNI Apollo, based in Birmingham city centre, meet every Thursday morning (currently on Zoom), and have 23 members, all from different professions.

13 members of the group have decided to take on UHB Charity’s Challenge34 this February, to help support and raise as much money as they can for our amazing NHS. The members are all taking on different and exciting challenges. Many of the members have been running and walking the 34 miles throughout the month so far, including Sheena Mobberley from Suraan Stephens Consulting, Jag Guru from PUUC Architectural Design Solutions and his colleagues (both pictured above) and Aman Aneja, owner of AA Mortgage Services, who has decided to walk 68 miles.

Some of the members have even created some fun and different challenges. Graphic designer, Sarah Moss, has been rowing 4 days a week for 40 minutes each day (pictured above), which will total 72 miles throughout the month, whilst Craig Upton, from See You Social, is playing 34 minutes a day of Table Tennis!

Fundraising manager Laura Power said: “A huge thank you to all the members of BNI Apollo who are taking part in Challenge34 for UHB Charity! It is great to see an astounding 13 members getting involved and taking on different Challenge34’s, creating their own challenges. BNI Apollo have been incredibly supportive over the last few years, and it is amazing that they continue to support our wonderful NHS frontline workers during these challenging times”.

All the money raised by BNI Apollo’s fundraising will go to University Hospitals Birmingham Charity’s NHS Superhero appeal, to help the charity to continue to support our four hospitals during the third wave of the pandemic. The charity will continue to deliver care packs to staff, fund the wobble rooms and well-being hubs for staff and provide staff with the psychological and emotional support they need during these challenging times.

To support any of the members of BNI Apollo, visit the Challenge34 JustGiving page here, or have a look on our website and take on your own #Challenge34.
