Parents and babies walk in Mini’s 1st Miles for Neonatal Unit at Heartlands

Parents and their babies walked two miles around Castle Vale to raise money for Heartlands Hospital Neonatal Unit.

All of the babies involved were all born on the Neonatal Unit and took part in ‘Mini’s 1st Miles’ to raise some money for the people and the ward that looked after them when they were just beginning their lives.

Sabrina Hussaine, Fundraising Assistant for Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: “A very special thank you to Stacey Shaw, the Senior Ward Sister on the Neonatal Unit at Heartlands, in the space of just a few weeks she managed to put ‘Mini’s 1st Miles’ together! Everyone who joined in and donated made the day very special and all the money raised will go towards added extras for the Neonatal Unit.”

Despite the rainy weather, the walkers have so far raised £1113.16 with even more money to be added from people who sponsored the walkers.

At the end of the walk, the little ones received a certificate to say they had taken part in the walk, which they all loved!
