Mobile CT scanner

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity is launching an appeal to purchase a portable CT scanner.

Currently, hundreds of patients every year need to be moved from the Critical Care Unit to Radiology whenever they need a brain scan, often several times within the same admission. The mobile CT scanner will allow patients with severe head injuries to receive life-saving CT scans without the trauma of leaving the ward.
