Natacha Seeburrun is a self-employed bookseller for Usborne. In February this year she set up a Crowdfunding page to raise funds to purchase books and games for children staying in hospital. She raised an incredible £1,329. This donation will allow children to have a more enjoyable time whilst staying in an unfamiliar environment.

Natacha launched a Crowdfunding page back in February, raising £297. As well as this, she set up a charity raffle with colleagues, customers and contacts to raise further funds. The Chairman of TOA Taxis, Sajid Mahmood, donated £800 and, Taylor Wimpey West Midlands donated £250. Two generous contributions that haven't gone unnoticed by UHB Charity.

Natacha said, "It has not been an easy year for our children; even more so for those children who have had to go into hospital to receive treatment. The staff do an amazing job to provide the medical care that is needed but they don't have the funding to provide the little treats and familiar things that help children cope. The challenges are even greater with the need for social distancing and restrictions on sharing items, and the additional anxieties from the pandemic."

The books Natacha has provided target different age ranges and include a variety of genres. She said, "I've sourced reusable and wipeable books that are hospital friendly as well as pads with removable sheets that can be shared amongst patients. I've also added educational books that talk about a hospital environment to reduce their anxieties. My hope is for these books to make children's time in hospital just that little bit easier."
