A walk down memory lane brings in money to support patients

Last month, QEHB Charity held a memory walk around the grounds of the hospital to raise money to support elderly patients at the hospital. Plenty of staff members, former patients, families and friends came along on the day for a walk down memory lane, raising a fantastic £796.93.

The participants were treated to a Zumba-style warm up, and then walked a total of 5km around the hospital site. It was a fun day for all ages, with teams from around the hospital getting into the spirit of the day.

Jo Bubb, Activities Coordinator at QEHB, said: "I was delighted that the memory walk was such a success with everyone who came along. There were some fantastic outfits on display, with people dressing up in clothes from their favourite era. Huge thanks go to BHBN for coming along for the day, helping to make it a really special event."

Senior Fundraiser at QEHB Charity, Rachel Learmonth, said: "The Charity is delighted to have raised so much money to support elderly patients at QEHB. The Charity is dedicated to providing 'added extras' for elderly patients at the hospital that make their stay more comfortable, and increasing patient wellbeing.

"The money that was raised from the Memory Walk will help the Charity continue to go 'over and above' for elderly patients at the hospital."
