Afternoon teas bring in funds for patients

AC Hotel Birmingham and Hilton Garden Inn Brindleyplace have raised a fantastic £334.95 to support the Children's appeal at Heartlands Hospital following a promotion whereby a percentage of the profits from afternoon teas at the hotels were donated to the Charity.

The promotion, which ran at the AC Hotel during July, raising £155, and the Hilton Garden Inn during August, raising £179.95, proved particularly popular amongst customers who were looking to enjoy a tasty afternoon tea at one of their local Birmingham hotels.

The hotels are jointly managed by Valour Hospitality and Laura Moore, Director of Sales for both hotels, said: “It is great to give back to a local charity. When I spoke to Sian about Heartlands Hospital Children’s Charity Appeal you do just expect to have the facilities you need. For example a nice comfy bedroom at the hospital, if your child was sick and you needed to stay over.

"However, the NHS is limited with money and what resources they can offer. I am really pleased that this money is will contribute to the refurbish of the two current bedrooms. I look forward to hearing of other future projects and supporting again, the appeal made it so easy setting up a link online, designing posters and I would recommend everyone to consider supporting a great cause.”

Sian Averill, Fundraising Manager at Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: "The Charity's thanks go to Laura and the teams at AC Hotel Birmingham and Hilton Garden Inn Brindleyplace for kindly donating profits from their sales of afternoon teas to support Heartlands Hospital Charity's Children's appeal.

"With the support of organisations such as Valour Hospitality, and the generosity of individual supporters and fundraisers, Heartlands Hospital Charity is going to transform the children's areas at the hospital, helping to make them more child-friendly and welcoming for the 56,000 children who visit the hospital each year."
