Asda Minworth's Green Token Giving Programme for Heartlands Hospital

Asda Minworth has nominated Heartlands Hospital Charity as one of their three local children’s charities to support via the Green Token Giving Programme!

The Green Token Giving Programme works by visiting your local Asda store that is running the scheme, once you are at the checkout you can ask for your Green Token, then place the token into the charity box of your choice! Charity winners are awarded £500 and second and third place receive £200 each. Voting closes at the end of September and December this year.

The money donated to Heartlands Hospital Charity will fund towards its Children’s Appeal. Providing them with ‘added extras’ that the NHS cannot.

As a Hospital, Heartlands have around 56,000 ill and injured children to tend to and for a lot of young patients, hospitals can be a scary and daunting place. With the Children’s Appeal, the Charity aims to provide the children with specialised sensory equipment and toys to make their stay as relaxed as possible. Likewise, we hope to achieve this with their parents, supplying them with comfortable parent day rooms and a garden area where they can play with their child in a relaxed setting.

Sabrina Hussaine, Fundraising Assistant at Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: “A huge thank you to Asda in Minworth who chose the Charity as one of their three in the Green Token Giving Programme. The money the Charity receives will go towards ‘added extras’ for the children who go in and out of the hospital every single day.”
