Aston Labs supports teenagers with cancer

A Birmingham company has kindly donated over £1,000 to support young people with cancer.

Aston Labs recently donated £1,500 to QEHB Charity in support of the Young Persons Cancer Unit (YPU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

QEHB Charity was one of several charities selected by the lab to receive funding, and has recently been chosen as one of five core charities for the year ahead.

As if that wasn’t enough, the lab’s kind-hearted employees have offered to volunteer at QEHB Charity events and atrium stands throughout 2015/16.

Laura Power, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Aston Labs for their continued support of QEHB Charity.

“YPU treats cancer patients aged 16-25. Thanks to support from companies and individuals like Aston Labs, QEHB Charity is able to fund added extras for patients on the ward, to help make their time spent at the hospital as comfortable as possible.

“These extras include a teacher, pizza nights, x-box games and DVDs.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Aston Labs to our future events and thank them once again for their support.”
