Beauty Kings and Queens round up to support military patients

A round up of the West Midlands’ hottest Beauty Queens and Kings swapped their sparkly tiaras and shimmering sashes for charity tees and collecting buckets, raising £200 for Fisher House, a ‘home away from home’ for military patients and their families.

The well-dressed group volunteered at QEHB Charity’s weekend bucket collection, which took place at Coventry train station. Volunteers included Miss Coventry, Miss West Midlands, Miss Rugby, Mr Rugby and Miss and Mr Nuneaton.

The two day event was held in support of Fisher House which supports military patients and their families by offering free accommodation in homely and comforting surroundings, where patients and families can escape the hospital wards in a relaxing and calm environment.

Laura Power, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, which runs Fisher House, said: “We are incredibly grateful to all the Mr’s and Miss’ who gave up their time to volunteer at our Coventry train station bucket collection.

“Although families stay at Fisher House for free, it costs the charity £25 per night to accommodate them, so every penny really does make such a huge difference.”
