Birmingham and Solihull Hospital Charities fundraising events for 2024

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity and Solihull Hospital Charity have a variety of fundraising activities and events taking place throughout the year and are encouraging their supporters to ‘do more in 2024’ to help their local hospitals.

If your New Year’s resolution is to try something new or take on a challenge the hospital charity has plenty of ideas to get you started and by taking part, you will be supporting patients and staff at your local hospitals.

There are a number of events to get involved with, from thrilling skydives and mountain treks, to bike rides and marathons. The hospital charity is also holding social events, including an Ascot Race Day in the summer and pub quizzes throughout the year. You can fundraise for a ward or department of your choice at your local hospital and all the money you raise will go towards helping patients, their families and staff.

The hospital charity is excited to have charity places on England’s only 100 mile closed road bike ride in 2024, the Ford RideLondon, taking place in May. The ride starts at Westminster Bridge and takes in many of London’s landmarks before going into the beautiful countryside in Essex and finishing back in Central London at Tower Bridge. The hospital charity has a limited number of Charity places for the 100mile bike ride as well as the 60mile ride, so don't miss out and sign up now.

If you want to challenge yourself to a mountain trek in 2024 you can join the hospital charity on the adventure of a lifetime with their Northern Lights Trek in Iceland in November. Immerse in Iceland's wonders: geothermal springs, volcanic mountains, and the mesmerizing Northern Lights. There are also more local events to take part in, such as the Great Birmingham Run in May. Join thousands of runners on the streets of Birmingham in Midlands’ biggest and best running event and take on a 10k or a half marathon.

Mike Hammond, Charity Chief Executive, said, “The new year is the perfect opportunity to set yourself a goal or try something you’ve never done before. We are incredibly grateful to the amazing fundraisers who choose to support us. Thanks to them, we can continue going over and above for our patients and staff and provide a wide range of added extras that the NHS cannot provide as standard. We have a fantastic variety of events this year and I can’t wait to see how all of our fundraisers get on!”
