Chloe Harris and Mike Rose were looked after on the Eden Suite at Heartlands Hospital in November after sadly losing their baby boy Arlo.

Arlo was born sleeping on November 18, 2019 and his mom and dad were cared for on the Eden Suite, Heartlands Hospital’s specialist bereavement unit, where they spent time with Arlo before going home.

The Eden Suite cares for those families who sadly lose their baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death and provides them with a peaceful and private environment for parents in their time of need.

After leaving the suite, Chloe and Mike decided they wanted to raise money to help other families like them get through one of the toughest times.

With the help of their friends and family, the couple raised an incredible £500 for the Eden Suite which will go on to help more families just like them.

They said: “We want people that are unfortunate to find themselves in the same situation as us to receive the support of the Eden Suite as we did and we want to give back to them for everything they did to make our time with Arlo special and for the memories they helped us to create.

“They provided emotional support for us throughout the days and nights we spent there. After we got to meet our baby Arlo, they created a special memory box for us full of beautiful keepsakes to remember our short time with our little boy.

“Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed even if it was just somebody to listen.”

The money they have raised will go towards providing added extras for the families who sadly need to use the Eden Suite. This can include items for their memory boxes to enhancing the suite itself to make it even more comfortable and peaceful during their time in need.
