Christmas Appeal
Christmas is a time for giving; a time for community; a time for family.
We want to raise £12,000 to bring a little Christmas magic to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Francis Tavenor, who received a life-saving liver transplant on Boxing Day several years ago at the QE, believes that the sharing element of Christmas is an integral part of the hospital’s ethics:
“This campaign focuses on the community aspect of Christmas: it will bring happiness to patients, and reward staff for their hard work.”A donation of £2 will help us to provide a festive hamper to patients and staff in the hospital on Christmas Day. A donation of £5 will enable us to give each patient a TV Card so they can enjoy festive films or the Queen’s Speech. By donating £10, you will be helping us to provide our young patients with a Christmas gift and a donation of £25 will help us to decorate the hospital over the festive period. We want to focus on communal giving, and so are encouraging as many people as possible to get involved with fundraising events. Here are a few suggestions:
- Festive cake sales
- Festive art competitions in schools
- Carol singing
- Guess the number of candy canes in the jar
- Christmas party or fête
- ‘Card-free’ Christmas
QEHB Charity will be holding its very own Festive Jumper Day on Friday 4th December. Wear your knitted woolly wonders to school or work and donate £1 toward the Christmas Appeal.
From caring for the elderly who will have few visitors to supporting young children who face weeks of gruelling radiotherapy, with your help QEHB Charity wants to bring the joy of Christmas to all. Let’s work together, in the spirit of Christmas, to achieve this. For more information, visit our JustGiving page.
