Christmas comes early to staff and patients at Solihull Hospital

A special delivery of Christmas hampers brought joy to the staff and patients at Solihull Hospital this week, kindly donated by Solihull Hospital Charity.

The Solihull community has been working tirelessly throughout December to make this possible, including Solihull School 6th Form choir who visited the hospital to sing to staff and patients, and A-Plan Insurance, Shirley, who donned their silliest Christmas jumpers on Festive Jumper Day! The Charity team even spent a day wrapping presents for donations at Mell Square, Solihull.

The Hampers were hand-delivered by volunteers from the Charity to Wards around the hospital, including Elderly Care, the Dementia team and Macmillan nurses.

Pat, Ward Clerk on the short stay Acute Medical Unit said: “We are so grateful to the Charity for donating the hampers, although we are working over Christmas we try hard to keep to stay festive for the patients.”

Samantha Howell, Fundraising Manager at Solihull Hospital said: “It was a joy to see the smiles on the faces of the hard-working staff of Solihull Hospital and the patients who will be in the hospital around Christmas. Everybody deserves to enjoy Christmas, and the Solihull Community have made that possible.”
