Cricket tournament supports brain tumour research

Kind-hearted fundraiser, Guri Nandra, has raised over £1,300 to support brain tumour research at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Dr Guri Nandra, who works at Edgbaston Dental Centre, organised a cricket tournament which took place at Hagley Cricket Club, on 14 August.

The event saw eight local teams play, with six overs per game.

Just Davy, Head of Fundraising at QEHB Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Guri for organising a fantastic event and raising such a wonderful amount to support brain tumour research here in Birmingham.

“I’d like to say a huge thanks to the Nandra family and to Hagley Cricket Club for kindly hosting the tournament.”

The Giles’ Trust at QEHB Charity is fundraising for a Clinical Research Nurse, who will enable brain tumour patients to access some of the most advanced drugs in the world.
