Domino’s in Birmingham commits to supporting patients

Domino’s, the nation’s favourite pizza, has committed to support local hospital charities throughout 2018 in Birmingham and will help to fundraise for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity and Solihull Hospital Charity.

A team from the hospital charity visited the Domino’s store in Selly Oak to find out a little more about the work that goes into making the nation’s favourite pizza and even got to make a few of their own.

The hospital charity works to provide ‘added extras’ for patients and staff across QEHB, Heartlands Hospital and Solihull Hospital, providing equipment, facilities and items ‘over and above’ that which the NHS is able to provide.

Domino’s stores in Birmingham have put on a special promotion that lasts until 25 March, allowing customers to purchase a pizza and get a second for just £2 - £1 of which will be dough-nated to the hospital charity. The deal is valid at 11 participating stores, including: Birmingham Central, Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Kings Norton, Rubery, Yardley, Hall Green, Maypole, Shirley, Sheldon and Solihull Central.

Samantha Howell, Fundraising Manager at Solihull Hospital Charity said: “Our thanks go to the amazing team from Domino’s in Birmingham for deciding to support the hospital charity throughout 2018. Everyone across the Charity is really excited about this partnership and we look forward to celebrating the donations that come in from Domino’s customers over the coming years.”

The donations that the Charity receives will allow us to continue to go ‘over and above’ for staff, patients and their families at the hospitals.

Arshad Yasin, Franchisee of the Domino’s stores said: “We are pleased to be able to help our local hospitals by raising much-needed funds. These hospitals provide an invaluable service to both our employees and our customers, and by raising additional money we can help them continue their spectacular work for our local community. We are aiming to raise up to £100,000 and planning many fundraising projects this year.”

Domino’s Pizza actively encourages its stores and franchisees to deliver more to the community by supporting local groups, schools and events.
