Family donate in memory of baby son

Jacob Ryan Kearney was born at 17 weeks at Heartlands Hospital on 18 April 2018 weighing just 90 grams. After the heartbreaking time of losing their baby boy, Jacob’s parents Amy and Ryan took part in fundraising to help the bereavement service at the hospital!

Amy and Ryan, along with many of their family and friends, have already taken part in the Balsall Common Fun Run and opened a JustGiving page to help bring in their donations. But now, they have had their total matched by a relative.

All together the couple have donated a huge £1,480 towards the Eden Suite, Heartlands Hospital’s bereavement suite, which will go towards all of the ‘added extras’ to help parents and families just like them.

Amy Jackson, Jacob’s mom, said: “The staff at the Eden Suite are a fantastic support and they have the most amazing team of midwives that are there to help, like they helped us in creating these everlasting memories.”

Sabrina Hussaine, Fundraising Officer at Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: “Thank you so much to Amy, Ryan and all of their family and friends for all of the fundraising they have done to help support other families like theirs.

“The money raised will help families who sadly have to use to Eden Suite and they will be able to make memories and have support from all of the staff in the Suite.”
