Family of fundraisers take on fun run for Charity

Laura Suantah,  her husband Denneh and their son Evan have recently completed the Cardiff Festival of Running 2.5km family fun run! The family certainly looked the part in their superhero costumes as they tackled the run together. Little Evan even had enough energy left to do the 100m toddler dash on his own!

The family were inspired to raise money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity after Laura’s step-dad underwent major transplant surgery at QEHB. Laura said: “The care he was given and the care that he has received since his operation, means he is here with us today! The wonderful people at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham work miracles on a daily basis.”

The trio of fun-runners raised a wonderful £340 to support patients at the hospital. Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, Sophie Carroll, said: “The Charity’s thanks go to Laura, Denneh and Evan for their fantastic fundraising efforts. It’s great to see a family take on a challenge together to raise money for patients here at QEHB. It looks like they had a fantastic time taking on the run, and their costumes looked fabulous!

“The money that they have raised will help the Charity go ‘over and above’ for transplant patients here at QEHB, which is the largest solid organ transplant centre in Europe.”
