FIFA Tournament is a fundraising triumph!

For the past two years, FIFA gaming lovers from Shropshire have supported QEHB Charity by holding a gaming tournament. Gamers entered the Xbox One FIFA 2016 tournament which took place on Saturday, 23rd January at Church Stretton Social Club in order to become the next king or queen of FIFA.

The tournament was made up of four groups of five players. After preliminary rounds, only two from each group succeeded in advancing to the next stage. The final was a nail-biting show-stopper between 2015 tournament winner Aaron Marsh and newcomer Sunny Singh. In a tense penalty shoot-out, Aaron was crowned king of FIFA for the second year running.

The group raised a fantastic £375 for QEHB Charity, as well as having a night full of brilliant gaming!

Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising at QEHB Charity, said: “This event certainly puts the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’! It is yet another surprising idea for a charity event that has worked incredibly well over the past few years, and the amount of money raised for the charity is brilliant. On behalf of QEHB Charity, I want to thank all those who organised and took part in the tournament; your hard work will make a huge difference to patients and staff at the QE.”
