Fireworks spectacular raises money for Good Hope Hospital & Friends of Little Sutton School

Good Hope Hospital Charity partnered up with Friends of Little Sutton School this year to create a night of fantastic fireworks and fundraising.

The all new and fun event aimed to raise money for the school and the hospital charity. The hospital charity provides those ‘added extras’ to the patients, staff and families at the hospital whilst Friends of Little Sutton School provide the local primary school with 'added extras' for pupils to enhance their education - over the past twelve months they have funded additional maths software, iPads and interactive whiteboards.

With over 1,400 people attending the fireworks show, it was a huge success for both the Charity and the school and with all the help of staff, pupils and volunteers, the event raised a huge £7,000!

Money was raised through tickets to get into the firework show and a hospital charity tombola which everyone loved! Along with the Charity’s stand, the school also put on food stalls, sweet stalls and gift stalls selling glow sticks for the fireworks display.

Laura Power, Fundraising Manager for Good Hope Hospital Charity, said: “A huge thank you to Friends of Little Sutton School and everyone who helped out and attended on the day of the fireworks. The night was a huge success and everyone loved every minute of it!

“All of the money raised will be split between the hospital charity and the school. The Charity’s half of the money will go towards all of the ‘added extras’ for patients and staff at the hospital that the NHS cannot fund. The money is a great addition in helping us have the best possible care we can give.”
