Friends of Good Hope Hospital provides welcome space for patients

Friends of Good Hope Hospital kindly helped to refurbish the Day Room on ward 8 at Good Hope Hospital, providing a welcome space for patients as they recover.

The kind hearted group raised £3,500 which was donated to the hospital to help to create a more relaxed and comfortable environment for patients. The group kindly funded a TV and aerial, four reclining arm chairs, a dining table and chairs, artwork, board games and ornaments.

Stephanie Thomas, Ward Manager at Good Hope Hospital, said: “We really wanted a room that would encourage patients to mobilise and take part in group activities. The games are brilliant and really help to spark conversation and help patients to stay active, whilst the table and chairs provides a sociable space to sit and talk.

“On behalf of everyone on ward 8 I’d like to say a big thank you to Friends of Good Hope Hospital for making this small but vital change possible.”

Mike Hammond, Chief Executive at Good Hope Hospital Charity said: “We are really grateful for the support from Friends of Good Hope Hospital and would like to say a huge thanks to everyone involved for supporting patients and families at the hospital.”
