Fundraising Friday

Fundraising Friday is an opportunity for the Charity to say thank you to the fantastic fundraisers who go over and above to raise funds to support patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

This week, the Charity is celebrating a fundraiser who got muddy for money- Kate Hepworth. Kate had a subarachnoid haemorrhage, a bleed under the skull, in 2014 and despite being very ill, has made a full recovery thanks to the care of QEHB.

To show her gratitude Kate wanted to challenge herself, and took on a 10k wolf run, getting very dirty in the process!

“QEHB is the most wonderful hospital with such caring staff, not only did they save my life, but they nursed me back to full health, allowing me to physically push myself further than I believed possible.

“I was really nervous before doing the run but I completed it in two hours and 15 minutes, the second fastest in my group and I am so proud of myself. I had never done anything like this before, but now I have caught the bug and am planning to do many more similar events for the hospital that saved my life.”
