Fundraiser raises money to support Eden Suite

Tracey Kearney, along with the help of staff and pupils at the Widney Junior School, have raised well over £200 for the Eden Suite at Heartlands Hospital, in memory of her son and his partners’ baby.

Tracey's son and his partner were looked after during their time at the Eden Suite, which helps to support families whose babies have been stillborn, or died during or shortly following birth. Tracey took it upon herself with the help of fellow employees and students at the school to organise a cake sale raising over £200 in the process, all proceeds were donated to the Eden Suite.

Sabrina Hussaine, Fundraising Assistant at Heartlands Hospital Charity said: “On behalf of the charity I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Tracey and everyone who helped to raise such an amazing amount of money."

The money raised will help towards providing specialised equipment such as cuddle-cots, the cots enable the babies to stay at an appropriate temperature for a longer period of time so that the families can spend more time with them. The charity has so far raised enough funds to buy three cuddle-cots.
