Fundraisers prepare for the 2.6 Challenge

Fundraisers across the country are preparing to take on The 2.6 Challenge this weekend to raise funds to support the nation’s charities. The 2.6 Challenge is a new initiative from the organisers of the London Marathon, which was due to take place on Sunday.

You can take part in The 2.6 Challenge by dreaming up a challenge inspired by the numbers 2.6 or 26, so whether that’s a 2.6 mile run or walk, 2.6 laps of the garden, 26 times up and down your stairs, throwing a ball into a bucket 2.6 metres away 26 times, or 26 minutes of yoga the options are limitless!

Whatever you choose to do, remember to keep in mind the government social distancing and exercise guidelines!

Here’s Phil Upton with some more information:

Lots of amazing fundraisers have signed up to take part, including Aston Villa Women’s Natalie Haigh and physio Ashleigh Hargreaves who are aiming to run and cycle 26.2 miles in under 260 minutes with a goal of raising £1,310!

You can find out more about this epic challenge and support Natalie and Ashleigh here.

The Knowle & Dorridge Round Table are taking on The 2.6 Challenge by walking 2.6 miles, between 10 families, totalling a marathon distance overall! Find out more about this great fundraising idea and support K&D Round Table here.

There are just so many challenges that you could take on! Kiranjeet Grewal is a nurse at University Hospitals Birmingham, and she is taking on the challenge by attempting to walk 26,000 steps on Sunday! Meanwhile, her 10-year-old daughter will be supporting by walking up and down the stairs 26 times. Sponsor them here.
