Fundraising Friday
This week's fundraising Friday is dedicated to the talented pupils at Harborne Academy who treated staff, patients and visitors at QEHB to a selection of festive songs in the first of QEHB Charity's 12 Choirs of Christmas.
Pupils from Years 7 and 11 sang Christmas numbers old and new, as well as some modern pop songs to entertain patients at the start of the festive period. Conducted by music teacher Joanne Bonner, the pupils sang their hearts out for an hour to the delight of everyone in the hospital.
Harborne Academy Head Teacher Jessie Elbaz was there to watch and said: "I am immensely proud of all the pupiles from Harborne Academy who sang in the hospital today. It was fantastic to hear them in full voice, they have been working so hard in their own time to prepare for today it was lovely to see so many people enjoying their singing.
"The Year 11 pupils are busy preparing for their mock exams but they were all determined to come along today and sing for patients at the hospital. I'd like to thank Joanne Bonner and Fitz Elroy for the way that they have nurtured the natural talent of the choir and put together a fantastic repertoire."
Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager at QEHB Charity said: "Huge thanks go to all the amazing pupils from Harborne Academy who brighted up the day here at the hospital with their amazing singing. They drew a big crowd and lifted the spirits of everyone who heard them.
"I greatly look forward to welcoming more community and school choirs to the hospital over the course of the Christmas period."
