Fundraising Friday- Velo Special!

It’s only eight weeks until Velo Birmingham, a 100 mile closed cycle ride around Birmingham, Worcestershire and Herefordshire, and to celebrate the Charity will be telling the stories of just a few of our one thousand strong team of charity riders.

For this week we are giving a huge cheer of encouragement to Professor David Mutimer, a Liver Consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB). David has worked at QEHB for 28 years and is not only a Medical Consultant, but also a Senior Lecturer in Hepatology at the University of Birmingham. So far Professor Mutimer has raised a fantastic £1,730 but is hoping with your support meet his target of £5,000 to help fund clinical trials at QEHB which aim to give patients early access to life-saving therapy.

The monies raised by Velo Birmingham will go directly towards funding equipment, facilities and research 'over and above' that which the NHS can afford. Velo Birmingham places have closed for 2017 however, you can register your interest for 2018 by emailing Mike.Hammond@uhb.nhs.uk.
