Fundraising Friday

For this week's edition of Fundraising Friday we are celebrating John Harrington, a Community First Responder for West Midlands Ambulance service from Birmingham, who raised over £1,000 for Ward 621 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) where he received treatment for cancer.

Since being diagnosed with cancer in 2016, John has been given the all clear, following the prompt and effective treatment at QEHB.

The brilliant fundraiser organised a charity Zumbathon which took place on Sunday 30 April at Lordswood Primary School in Birmingham.

John explained: “We had nine instructors on the day working for free, loads of people danced for the whole three hours which was pretty exhausting, but I’m so happy with the amount raised.”

Following the success of this event, John is planning another Zumbathon to take place in November, and hopes to have just as many keen people coming along!

Fantastic work John!
